Lil Venting gonna happen here...

Sorry if I turn anyone off by this, but if you've been in my position and felt used, felt like people didn't care about you but more were just your friend to use you, then you'd probably understand more where I'm coming from; it's hurtful, not even gonna lie.

Those that have known me a while... even if it's just a short while; you know that I strongly dislike people self-promoting themselves on my Facebook. I can't regulate Facebook like I can with this blogger thingy (like putting the comments on approval only) so i often wake up to several links that i have to delete on my Facebook. it irks me. it's disrespectful.
ever since i began YouTube or anything nail-related, i have NEVER self-promoted myself, ever. i have never asked for shout-outs, posted my links on walls, asked people to subscribe... that's just not my style. the fact that i have never done this, makes it even more irritating when people use me to do it.
i believe that if someone likes you, they will subscribe. i believe that if you are a genuinely good nail-artist, or remotely entertaining, people will be interested over time. there is no need to solicit. i HATE solicitation. i worked at target and i was supposed to ask the ''guests'' if they wanted to apply for a target card. i couldn't even bring myself to do this.
i think in doing that, you get people that come along that aren't truly appreciative of your friendship/work/personality/art and it's a waste. the only way to grow an established blog or channel or whatever, is to let people make that decision on their own, don't press them to do so.
I've never done this, and i'm actively against it.
as a result, I've decided to deactivate my Facebook ''page'' PlasmaSpeedo. I have about 1400 ''likes'' on there, and i understand Facebook is convenient for people to stay in contact and follow long with, but it's becoming more of an annoyance and a burden by having to constantly regulate and ask people to be respectful. I don't want to be used. I hate feeling used. I'm not a billboard. I have people following that page because they chose to, not because i forced it down their throat. shameless self-promoters continue to abuse my page, and disrespect me, use me and make me feel like all they care about is getting some views of their own. they often don't even act like they care what i'm posting, leave a comment relating to my posts or anything- they just link their blog. lolllll really? GTFO for real, that is so pitiful IMO and ya won't last long with a ''gain 'em quick, herd 'em in like cows'' approach. every single person following your channel or page or blog is a PERSON. they deserve to be respected as people, they deserve to make their OWN decisions as to what they want to follow. so eff you and your forceful solicitation and self-promoting. i want no part of it.
a lot of you probably wonder what the heck i'm talking about, but it's mostly because i'm quick-on-the-mouse and when i'm alerted that there's a comment on my FB, i immediately check it, see that it's a link, and delete it. i often catch them within minutes. this regulating is tiresome to me. it's petty. i just feel like no one should use me or benefit from posting their stinking blogs on someone's page that never did the shameless self-promoing themselves. i refuse to let people ''use'' my friends to solicit to, just because I've established a decent number of interested people. i refuse to let them be slammed with ads or promos. they are not there to read that crap.
so because i will be away and not able to regulate as closely, i find it easier to just delete the FB and relocate all the pictures n stuff here :) yeah i have 1400 ''likes'' and some people wouldn't dare delete a page that has grown so much; but this shows that it's not a ''numbers'' game to me. and for you people with your own pages, it shouldn't be a ''numbers'' game to you. i'd rather have quality over quantity and i truly believe that if anyone is interested in following what i'm up to, they will check plasmaspeedo.com where my posts can sleep safely, without any disrespectful self-promoters. i want people that are interested in my nail photos or vlogs or blogs to be able to come and enjoy themselves and not feel like they are being ''sold'' someone else's things.
so bless all of you that have been respectful, bless you that have not.. just understand it's nothing personal, it's just the way i believe it should be approached. if you see nothing wrong with self-promoting, by all means, go ahead and do it. but you won't be able to USE ME for that anymore :)
if you post a wonderful comment but sneak in a link to a blog of your own, your wonderful comment won't be published. homie don't play that, i'm onto you, i smell the shit you're steppin' in, and you won't succeed in that here. lol lol
